 Myriad

Historically meant 10,000, but is now used to mean ‘A great number’.

e.g. A myriad of ideas

Lengthy discussion or written communication or debate.

e.g. A problem with online discourse is that people can say whatever they like anonymously.

 Assimilate

To take in and fully understand information or ideas.

e.g. New staff found it easier to assimilate the policies when they were produced in concise fact sheets.

 Plethora

An old medical term meaning an excess of red blood corpuscles in the blood, but now means an overabundance or excessive amount (more than that which is necessary).

e.g. A plethora of committees and sub-committees

 Infinite

Having no limits, endless, immeasurable.

e.g. He had infinite patience.
