Autonym

A name by which a person or group refer to themselves, their real name (auto=self, nym=name)

e.g. afro-caribbean

One of two (or more) that has the same meaning.

e.g. end – conclusion, group – cluster

An abbreviation formed from the first letters of other words and which can be pronounced as a word.

e.g. Ruth Rendell’s pseudonym was Barbara Vine

A word with two or more opposite meanings.

e.g. ‘Fast’ = move quickly, or, stuck firmly in place.
