Acronym
An abbreviation formed from the first letters of other words and which can be pronounced as a word.
e.g. NASA, NATO.
Pseudonym
An assumed name or pen-name, especially by an author.
(pseudo=false)
e.g. Ruth Rendell’s pseudonym was Barbara Vine
Contronym
(also Auto-antonym)
A word with two or more opposite meanings.
e.g. ‘Fast’ = move quickly, or, stuck firmly in place.
