Four focused sessions spread across three weeks (or four). Each session will focus on a specific learning structure and concentrate on one element of social media each week for easy progression. Wifi is available so be sure to bring your laptop.
What you will learn
Session 1: Social Media overview and Strategy Development
You will understand how to set up social media profiles with a strategic approach and how to apply your business objectives. You will gain effective knowledge in how to segment your target audience and how to run a successful strategy by:
- Utilising keyword research
- Understanding how your objectives can be achieved
- Learning the different communities on different social media platforms
- Setting up consistent profiles and integrating all activity
- Confirming your online value proposition
- Aggregating existing marketing activities
1st Monday morning of each month (unless a bank holiday)
Session 2: Twitter – Entering Twitterverse
Twitter is microblog, information network offering an excellent way to spot opportunities, absorb industry knowledge and build strong relationships across the supply chain. After the session you will understand:
- How to run, monitor and integrate an effective Twitter feed with a targeted application
- Recognise potential niche sites and directories to increase your reach and enhance your profile
- Do’s and don’ts and successful case studies to gain inspiration and sidetrack the pitfalls
- Understand what third party applications can save you time, resources and add to your campaign experience
2nd Monday morning of each month (unless a bank holiday)
Session 3: Facebook – The heavyweight Champion!
Facebook is a social network focusing on connecting with friends and people with the same likes and interests. The Facebook Page can be an excellent tool for gaining awareness from customers already interested in your products and services, to be recommended by others and an extremely creative space for promotion. After the session you will understand:
- How to populate a Facebook Page with interesting content and what apps to incorporate
- How to use external sites to enhance your searches through Facebook
- Do’s and don’ts, tips and tricks and successful case studies
- Ways to run your Facebook Page like a mini website
We’ll also touch on blogs and YouTube during this session. 3rd Monday morning of each month (unless a bank holiday)
Session 4: LinkedIn – The Business Boardroom
LinkedIn is social networking for business. It’s more serious, has more etiquette and does have paid options. After the session you will understand:
- How to leverage LinkedIn as a research tool
- How to leverage ‘search’ for contact building and ice-breaking
- How to become an expert and gaining credibility
- The best apps to use and how to populate your profile with relevant content
We’ll also touch on location based networks such as Foursquare and Facebook Places and how to utilise mobile marketing within your strategy. 3rd Monday afternoon of each month (unless a bank holiday)
